During this day, we will explore a variety of key topics for the development and well-being of people with communication and behavioral challenges. We will begin with Mindful Resilience and Self-Regulation through Mindfulness practices, and delve into Literacy and Alternative Augmentative Communication, opening avenues for improving interaction for people with communication difficulties. The day will also address topics such as the Assessment of intelligence in children, adolescents and young adults with communication difficulties, with tools such as the Wechsler Nonverbal (WNV), and we will review the Principles of Theory of Mind to better understand cognitive processes. We will explore family-centered Early Intervention approaches, the benefits of Naturalistic Developmental and Behavioral Based Interventions (NDBI), and the challenges of integrating these models for inclusive and comprehensive care. In addition, we will discuss the role of Strengths, art and creativity in autism and the pandemic, as well as Essential Social Skills for daily living. To conclude, we will look at Sensory Integration and adaptive behavior, promoting regulation and adjustment strategies for the personal and social growth of each individual.
