INTRODUCTION TO THE SCERTS MODEL
About Course
Participants will be able to identify 3 domains and their components in the SCERTS model that are used in assessment and intervention efforts.
Participants will be able to apply three of the guiding principles of the SCERTS Model.
Participants will apply strategies from the SCERTS Model to support students and parents in schools.
Social Communication: Functional spontaneous communication, sharing emotions and developing relationships with adults and children.
Emotional Regulation: Supporting self- and mutual regulation, learning, positive emotional experience, prevention and reduction of problem behaviors.
Transactional Support: Supporting children and family members by providing interpersonal and learning support (e.g., visual support) and emotional support in all aspects of programming, including peer support in inclusive settings.
