About Course
This early intervention model aims to address the foundations of social communication: joint attention, imitation, and play. It uses naturalistic strategies to increase the speed and complexity of social communication, and includes parents and teachers as intervention providers. This promotes generalization to different contexts and activities and ensures long-term stability. The purpose of each JASPER session is to increase joint participation, diversity, improve play skills, and encourage verbal and nonverbal communication. First, the child undergoes a series of assessments to measure attention, play and joint interaction with parents so that appropriate targets for intervention can be selected. The basic JASPER strategies are: Modeling, Joint Attention, Language, and Play Actions.
