Meet the people who have been making Actualizados for more than 10 years.

Our commitment

When we speak of autism, we refer to a set of similar disorders, but which manifest themselves in very different ways and to very different degrees in each person. Therefore, understanding autism as a spectrum helps us to recognize the diversity within these disorders, even though we use common terms to describe very different situations.

It is essential that the family, professionals and teachers work as a team and are an active part of the therapeutic process. From diagnosis, education, therapeutic groups and multidisciplinary work are the best answers to the child’s needs.

At Actualizados, we promote early detection and believe in continuous training as a key pillar. Our commitment is to train and educate ourselves in autism, neurodevelopment, treatment and evaluation, through the exchange of perspectives among professionals, teacher training and support to families.

Actualizados was born in 2014. We are called ActualizADOS because Ados was the first course we organized in Buenos Aires. Since the pandemic we also started to do courses via Zoom, and this means that today we reach professionals, teachers and families from all over Latin America and Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries in Europe. We work to train and make accessible many topics that we believe are important to be disseminated and visible. Thanks to all the people who join us and are part of our network, we continue to grow together!

Lorena Beitía CV

Degree in Psychology, graduated from Universidad del Salvador in 1997, she completed a postgraduate course in Clinical Practice with children and adolescents at the School of Specialization of the College of Psychologists of the Province of Buenos Aires, and a postgraduate course in Families and Couples. She studied the Diploma in Autism at the UCA in 2016.

He has conducted a large number of courses, conferences and congresses in the specialty, including certification in the ADOS, ADIR and Bayley scales, as well as presented papers and posters at conferences and published articles in scientific and current affairs journals.

She has extensive experience in conducting psychodiagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents, has carried out a concurrence at the Children’s Hospital Dr. Pedro de Elizalde, concurrence at the Municipal Hospital of Avellaneda (1998 to 2004) and has worked as a staff psychologist and admissions at the German Hospital in the pediatric mental health service (2005 to 2014).

He has provided professional services for numerous social security and prepaid health insurance companies (including Amsa, Servesalud, Docthos, Plan Médico del Hospital Alemán and Luis Pasteur).

Since 2013 she has been working as a psychologist and evaluator at the Centro Terapéutico Cicre de Wilde and continues to work in clinical practice with children and adolescents in the private sector and as director of Actualizados together with Ms. Girado.

Maria Girado CV

Music therapist graduated from Universidad del Salvador and Lic. in Psychology, graduated from Universidad de Buenos Aires. She completed a Diploma in Autism at the UCA in 2016.
She has worked with children since 1993. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for 8 years at the Winnie Pooh Kindergarten, worked for 5 years at the CISAM Autism Center as a music therapist, worked for 3 years at the Durand Hospital in the Early Stimulation Service and for 10 years at the German Hospital in the Pediatric Mental Health Service as an early stimulator and staff psychologist. She also formed and was part of the Interconsultation Team of the Pediatric Mental Health Service.
From 2011 to 2019 she was part of the interdisciplinary team of Andares, Therapeutic Center in Pacheco, serving as coordinator of the Psychology Area and autism evaluator.
Since 2014 she is training, especially in two topics: autism assessment using the ADOS 2 tool and in accompanying siblings of people with disabilities in SIBSHOPS workshops. And also since 2014 she is co-director of Actualizados together with Ms. Beitia. Together we work to promote inclusion, expand networks and train professionals, teachers and families from Latin America, Europe, Spanish-speaking countries and Portuguese-speaking countries.
